INX to showcase cost-saving, competitive advantage premium Inks at Sign Expo Canada

Schaumburg, IL – September 7, 2023 – Four new and proven digital inks developed to make an impact on the sign industry will be showcased in the INX International booth (#519) at Sign Expo Canada. INX sales and service representative Jason Lee, says the September 21-22 event at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, near Toronto provides attendees a golden opportunity to see the big picture associated with these premium outdoor inks.

“We are looking forward to seeing our customers at the show and talking with prospects who are looking for a premium digital ink produced here in North America. When you take into consideration the color and chemical compatibility, service capabilities, and the significant cost savings printers are experiencing, it’s hard to find a better value-added solution,” remarked Lee. Based in Toronto, he’s been with INX for 20 years and in his present position since 2016.

Lee indicated that as an industry leader in digital inkjet manufacturing, INX formulates high performance inkjet inks to improve on the qualities and cost efficiencies of OEM ink sets.

“We are the third largest producer of inks in North America, and the only major ink company to manufacture and offer both inks and specialized coatings for commercial, packaging and digital print applications,” he said. “Our Triangle® HFB inks for HP Scitex printers are a prime example. The conversions are quick and easy, and they provide a wide color gamut, truer reds, faster dry times, and have a lower applied cost. We have FASTSIGNS franchise owners saving over 30% on ink costs since switching to HFB.”.

Part of the reason is HFB uses 15% less ink than a similar OEM. Introduced to the market five years ago, HFB inks are optimized for curing with both UV Mercury and LED lamps. They are also compatible with HPÒ Scitex 500, 550, 700, 750, 900, and 950 series printers, a major selling point with one customer.

“We partnered with Triangle and INX because they are a multi-billion dollar ink manufacturer with a long history of producing high quality alternative inks,” remarked Mitch Roberts. He’s the Vice President of Lee’s Screen Process Supply in Stafford, Texas, a screen printing and digital graphics supply business since 1950. “The value proposition of HFB to companies on the HP Scitex platform is seriously impactful from a print quality and economic standpoint.”

Like HFB, the newer Triangle  HIP and HSI environmentally friendly UV Curable inks are formulated so printers can match G7 and GRACoL standards. Both ink sets offer unique benefits that extend far beyond the affordability and outstanding performance on multi-pass, high-speed inkjet flatbed printers they are being recognized for. HIP and HSI each delivered high 7 or 8 levels in the Blue Wool Ratings when measured for lightfastness.

“HSI inks are very flexible and match OEM adhesion on a wide range of digital and rigid display graphic medias,” said Lee. “We have a longtime digital printing customer who is saving up to 40% on their ink costs since switching to HSI. As a result, they are also enjoying excellent printability and the enhanced maintenance benefits.”.

Print operator Alex Velasco at Siegan Digital Imaging in San Diego agrees.

“My advice to other printers that are looking at the possibility of going third party,” he said, “is  now that I have done it, do it. It’s a great cost savings, the support is there, and it is amazing how much better you are taken care of by a third party ink manufacturer than the OEMs, who believe they have you in their pocket.”

Triangle HSI inks run on the high-speed, Inca Onset X1 flatbed printer. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, they are UV and water resistant without coating or lamination and available in eight colors. Triangle HIP inks are intended for jetting with high consistency on HP Scitex industrial printers, specifically the 9000, 10000, 11000, 15000, and 15500 series. Both are supported by INX’s industry leading Worldwide Ink Durability and UV Ink Train warranties.

Lee said show attendees should also check out the Triangle GSU inks that will be in booth 519. A market staple since 2018, GSU offers the same color, chemical, curing, and warranty benefits as the others inks.

“GSU runs on hybrid models of the Vutek® GS printer series, and these UV and LED Curable inks deliver outstanding performance for many of our customers,” he said. “I welcome talking with people at the show who are looking for a competitive edge and want to break free from using OEM inks.”
